I am a completely different person now. One who is healthy, active and happy. I am who I want to be for my kids and my grandchild.

I started my journey in March of 2023. My height was 5’8’ and my weight was 297 pounds. I have struggled with my weight for many years. I was about to turn 47 and was really feeling my age and my weight. I made a decision to change my habits a little at a time. I was more than happy to lose it slow because I wanted it to be a life style change.
The first year I lost 75 pounds and was stalling and maintaining. Then, in February 2024, I found out I was going to be a grandma and our little Asher was born in October 2024. I knew in February that I was making it a mission to be a healthy grandma and get the rest of the weight off so I could be all that he needed in a grandma.
Asher became my reason to fight harder than I ever have before. I decided I needed additional help to get to where I wanted to be. I started Tirzepitide in March of 2024.
This was life changing. I was able to get off the remaining 33 pounds and my body and mind completely changed. I could feel myself becoming who I wanted to be. It wasn’t just a weight change I was experiencing; it was so much more than that.
I will forever be grateful for Tirzepitide. I am about to be 49 in April and weigh 189 pounds. I am a completely different person now. One who is healthy, active and happy. I am who I want to be for my kids and my grandchild. On March 26th I will have Panniculectomy surgery to remove the apron belly I am left with. I worked very hard to be able to get my insurance to cover it because it causes infection and discomfort. They finally approved it.
My advice…Fight for what you need and what is right. You are worth the fight. If you are just starting, I know how you feel. I know the place you are in mentally and physically. I know the shame and disappointment you are feeling. I have been there. Please know it IS possible to change your life…to live the life you want. Change is hard…very hard. You have to fight every step of the way. You can’t do it alone. None of us can. We all need support. The community support I found in Emerge was exactly what I needed to keep going. Find your why and make a plan.
My why was becoming a grandma and my plan was Emerge. What is yours?
