Hello, my name is Nicole and I have always struggled with my weight since I was younger. In 2021 I was finally diagnosed with PCOS and it is insulin resistance. From 2021 to 2023 I hit my highest weight ever, 309. I was so embarrassed and ashamed of myself. I would have so much inflammation and joint pain is was unbearable.
Nothing would work I mean nothing.
Finally in May of 2023 I made a life changing decision to have VSG surgery. I started the process and went all the way to surgery day and when the doctors got in to complete the operation they found that I had my stomach attached to my abdomen and they backed out and were unable to complete the surgery as it was too risky.
Let me tell you that when I woke up and found out that I just fasted for 7 days and all my hopes of "FINALLY" getting my weight under control was crushed man it was a gut punch.

I was able to maintain my 20 pounds I lost but soon gained most back. In Nov. 2023 I decided to start a GLP1 and have been on one since. In all honesty it has been probably one of the easiest and less trying ways for me to lose weight. Not only have I lost weight but all of my PCOS symptoms are under control and I have normal cycles, no joint inflammation, and no body inflammation. I am so excited to share this journey as it has definitely been a long one.
I am currently at 90 pounds down and hoping to be 100 by the end of the year. I literally have gotten my life back. My life is my horses and barrel racing and for the last 1.5 years I have gotten to enjoy that and get better everyday.
Just a side note I have had to pay for my medication completely out of pocket as it is not recognized by FDA as a treatment or PCOS. I will say it has been worth every penny and I am so glad I have found Emerge. It is so nice to just see the text that my medication is ordered and shipped and I just keep trucking along to get to my goal. I have a goal of loosing 160 pounds so I still have a long ways to go but I am a little over half way there.
