I knew I had nothing to lose and everything to gain!
My name is Amy. I am 43 years old. I am a wife to Cody and mother to 2 amazing teenage boys (Caden and Keaton)! I am a first grade teacher from Lubbock, Texas. I have always struggled with my weight since college. I was very active in high school doing sports of all sorts. In college, I tried to remain active, but life got in the way. I put my health on the back burner to really focus on getting my degree as well as working in college.
As life went on I continued to struggle with my weight and my love of Dr Pepper was not helping! I have a younger sister who has always been very physically fit and it’s hard not to play the comparison game.

Several years ago I became dedicated to working out and I would walk 2 to 3 miles a day as well as loved lifting. I was on a journey to get in shape until I was derailed and experienced an epigastric hernia. I had surgery to repair it and was not able to lift for six weeks. Since then I have been trying to get back to where I was on that journey.
A fellow teacher friend shared her journey with emerge. I was skeptical at first, but I knew I had nothing to lose and everything to gain. I started my journey with emerge weight loss on January 9, 2025. I began this journey weighing in at 241 pounds the heaviest I have been.
Emerge has helped to quiet the food noise. It has helped me consume much more water than I was before.
I began noticing a huge difference in my face in pictures from the beginning of the school year.
Now I am able to fit into clothes that I have not worn in years. I have a confidence that is growing to now when my husband compliments me I say “thank you” instead of “stop”.
I stepped on the scale this morning (March 23) and to my surprise I was down to 216.
Yes the scale is moving in a great direction but more importantly I’m feeling more confident.
I’m nowhere near to my goal but without emerge I’m not sure where I would be. So thank you emerge for helping give me a fresh start to my health journey.
