- Introduce YourselfRecently divorced and battling depression, I found myself at a crossroads. My weight had exceeded 200 pounds, and simple tasks like bending over to put on my pants or tie my shoes became impossible. It was during a heart-to-heart conversation with my daughter, followed by a mental breakdown in an Applebee's, that my journey began. My daughter recommended trying a GLP-1 medication, inspired by her co-worker who subscribes to Emerge Weight Loss LLC. The journey was far from easy. I had to force myself out of bed to get my workouts in, and meal planning remains a struggle. I often find myself unsure of what is good to eat, how much is too much, and how to maintain a balanced diet. Despite these challenges, I persevered. Since March 2025, I have lost 36.2 pounds. Accompanying the medication with a healthy, clean diet and daily exercise has been crucial. Emerge Weight Loss LLC has provided an invaluable resource, curbing my appetite and stopping the food noise. I now like what I see in the mirror and have a new outlook on life. My best life is yet to come, and I want to be around and able to live it. Carrying around the extra weight did not help my mental and emotional well-being. I already had low self-esteem, and the weight exacerbated my struggles. Now, I wake with a renewed sense of self and a desire to feel the sun on my skin. I want to vacation, meet new people, and embrace life without fear or embarrassment about my appearance. To anyone reading this, I encourage you to take the leap. You won't regret it. That’s why our June challenge is all about one powerful habit: prioritizing protein. Why Protein? Protein is one of the most important building blocks in your body. It supports muscle retention, helps control hunger, and promotes better recovery and energy—especially crucial if you're on a GLP-1 medication like tirzepatide. When you're on a GLP-1, you may naturally eat less—but that makes it even more important to make your meals count. Protein helps ensure your body is getting the nutrients it needs, even if you're consuming fewer calories overall. The Challenge 🎯 Your goal: Aim for at least 100g of protein per day, 5–7 days per week throughout the month of June. We know this might feel like a big shift if you’re not used to tracking protein—but don’t worry! This challenge is about progress, not perfection. You’ll still be entered into the challenge just for showing up and doing your best. What Counts? All protein-rich foods and supplements count! Think: • Lean meats (chicken, turkey, beef) • Eggs and egg whites • Cottage cheese, Greek yogurt • Protein shakes or powders • Beans, lentils, tofu • High-protein snacks You don’t need to be perfect—you just need to be mindful. How to Track Use our Protein Tracking Calendar to jot down how many grams of protein you eat each day. You can use a food tracker app, your nutrition label skills, or keep it simple with rough estimates. - Non Scale VictoriesNSV: I’m not shy about having my photo taken anymore 😄 I used to make sure to stand up, hide behind someone, move far enough away from the camera, etc. I just noticed that now I just say “Cheese!” Like yesterday, Hubby wanted to take this 1 of me enjoying a treat…a yummy refreshing Margarita Flight. These days I allow myself a treat & truly enjoy it without any guilt. My relationships with food & with my body are in a much better place now…not perfect, but making great progress.
