I began my weight loss journey with Emerge Weight Loss in September 2024 and have lost 64 pounds.

A year ago, I was a size 18 or 2X, weighed 230 pounds and would get short of breath walking up one flight of stairs. My blood pressure and cholesterol were high and my ankles were swollen at the end of my work day. My doctor increased my blood pressure medication, added a second one and also started me on a low-dose, cholesterol-lowering medication. I wasn't sure what my goal weight would be but thought I would be happy at 190 which is what I weighed about three years prior and felt pretty good. When I reached 190, I decided I could easily keep going.

I have to say, I have had little to no side effects on tirzepatide and have been at the 7.5 mg dose for the majority of my journey. I have no plans to increase or to stop any time soon.

My appetite is well controlled and my cravings are gone. I eat twice a day and rarely snack. I do my best to eat well balanced meals and much smaller portions. It's just so easy being on this medication symptom-free and having no food noise!

At 185 pounds, my blood pressure was normal to low and my cholesterol and triglyceride levels were half what they had been and all within normal range. I was able to significantly lower one blood pressure medication and eliminate the other.

I found I could easily take the stairs without feeling short of breath or feeling any knee pain, as was the case at 230 pounds. My doctor told me that for my height of 5'8" she wanted to see me lose another 25 pounds.

Now I weigh 166 and am between a size 10-12. I have a ton of energy.

I just celebrated my 63rd birthday and feel like a 35-year-old!
I have a feeling I will go below my doctor's recommendation of 160 pounds and I am okay with that.

I went on a cruise three weeks after starting tirzepatide back in October 2024. In 37 days I'm going on another cruise, and I can't wait to see how different things will be. I'll be wearing a smaller swimsuit!
