Breaking Free from Binge Eating: How Emerge Became My Family
I have been binge-eating since I was a teenager. I remember specifically, that one of anything was not enough! I had to have 2 or 3 or well, you get the point. My parents used to call me “The Bottomless Pit.” Who knows what it stemmed from, but I have a strong suspicion it came from my DNA - which was full of “food makes it all better” mantras.
I pretty much had given up on losing the weight after trying over and over with other weight-loss programs and constantly yo-yoing until I found it difficult to lose more than 5 pounds. I thought about a GLP after my Mom died. One of the last things she said to me is “Please lose weight. Do it for your health.” She was genuinely concerned. Months after my Mom passed, I kept thinking about GLP1 meds. Everything was so costly. My physician wouldn’t prescribe it and even if he did, the shots were between $550 and $950 a month!
I read all about Emerge on various social media boards and everyone raved! I immediately signed up, then got 2 of my friends to join as well.
Immediately, I felt different. From the first week! I didn’t think about food 24/7. But the most important thing for me? EMERGE has become my HOME, my FAMILY.
I love our members and now I am an ambassador for the company and couldn’t be happier! I am sticking with EMERGE until I hit goal and then some!
This is a part of my life and I feel they have caught me when I was about to fall.

Before Emerge....
I was sort of lost, not having any realistic goals. It was all about bingeing/starving and counting every calorie until I was blue in the face. It wasn't ever sustainable in the long run. Every week I had some new fad "diet" and I failed miserably. These days? I feel just — different. Everything about my choices, my mindset, my minute-to-minute thoughts felt healthier and more normal. I felt like, "ohhhh, this is how people who never had a weight problem feel inside!"
Oh, this is what it's supposed to feel like!
My Favorites
Always carry water
A bottle of water comes everywhere with me.
Walk, don't ride
Whenever I have the extra time, I walk and skip the bus or subway.
Protein is key
I keep a protein drink (wrapped in an ice pack) or a protein bar in my backpack, just in case. And I batch hard-boiled eggs on Monday and grab two a day.
